Which Sandals Room Category?

This is a question we help customers with all the time because Sandals Resorts has many different types of room categories across a large price spectrum. The basic rule to remember is that in general the rooms have similar furnishings and decor on the inside. All Sandals accommodations have luxurious mahogany furnishing, 4 poster king size beds, beautiful tiling, and stylish bathrooms. How the rooms differ is based on the type of room (room, suite, villa), balcony/patio, type of view (garden, pool, ocean, beach), proximity to the beach, type of service (standard, concierge, or butler), and special amenities (such as swim-up room, private plunge pool, etc.).

Types of Service - Standard, Concierge, Butler Service
Sandals accommodation price structure can be grouped into 3 categories. Standard service covers the entry level and least priced room categories, Concierge Service covers the middle Tier room categories, and Butler Service categories are the highest priced accommodations. Standard service rooms are the least priced rooms and provide all the great amenities offered by Sandals luxury all-inclusive packages.

Concierge Service offers personal check-in and concierge desk to take care of any requests or reservations, special luggage handling, tour arrangements, special parties, and ree WiFi internet. In addition, although all Sandals accommodations offer in-room refrigerators stocked with complimentary juices, water, and soda's; Sandals Concierge category accommodations also provide a complimentary in-room bar stocked daily with beer, wine, and liquors. Concierge category rooms may or may not offer room service.

Butler Service in addition to all the included amenities of concierge service, butler service offers personal 24 hour butler service. Sandals describes Butler Service as: "... unimaginably supreme standard of service and luxury, where your every need is anticipated and catered to by your very own personal butler". We do not disagree and will tell you that the butlers are truly amazing. They are all professionally trained in England and provide a truly remarkable service. They are there to make your Sandals visit an experience to remember for a lifetime. Butlers can be used as little or as much as needed and each couple is provided a cell phone device in order to communicate with the butlers. From serving drinks at the beach, setting up a romantic in-room candlelight dinner, getting you the best tables in the restaurants, or almost any task imaginable. As a butler service guest, you will have extra amenities such as a reserved pool or beach canopy with lounge/table/chairs all maintained by your butler. Although tipping and gratuities are not normally accepted by Sandals staff, butlers are permitted to accept gratuities as they offer personal service. Tipping is not mandatory but can be given at the end of your stay during the checkout process. Sandals Butler Service rooms also include all the amenities of the Concierge Service.

Rooms, Suites & Villas
Sandals Resorts rooms are laid out in a variety of building types varying by resort. Some resorts such as Sandals Halcyon feature scattered 2-story buildings with the patios for the bottom floor and balconies for the upper floor. Many other resorts feature multiple story buildings from 3 floors and up. Almost all room categories have either a balcony or patio with the exception of some entry deluxe categories which have neither. During the booking process, the room category descriptions indicate if they have a patio or balcony. All Sandals accommodations have king beds and are designed for couples with luxurious romantic furnishings and decorations. Remember that all Sandals accommodations are furnished and decorated in very similar manner from the entry level deluxe category to the top of the line accommodations. Particular buildings or floors can be requested once a room deposit is placed (Note: For reservations placed thru our call center, DML Vacations follows up on special requests with Sales and Reservations Managers at the particular resort.)

Suites differ from rooms by adding additional features such as a vanity area, or perhaps a jacuzzi tub, or an extended sitting area with couch and table. 1BR suites are available in several resorts and feature separate bedroom and living room areas. Most suite categories are within the concierge or butler service levels. Read the room descriptions carefully to learn how suites differ from standard room categories at your particular resort(s) of interest.

Sandals Villas are found at several resorts including Sandals Grande Antigua, Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Grande Riviera, Sandals La Toc. In addition, cylindrical Villas called Rondovals are located at Sandals Grande Antigua and Sandals Grande St Lucia. Villas are stand alone structures that either hold one accommodation unit or multiple units such as the Sandals Montego Bay, Bay Roc Villas. In addition, while some villa categories are within 1-unit structures such as the private 2-story or millionaire villas at Sandals La Toc, other villa categories may have an upper floor where the deluxe room category is located such as some of the villas at Sandals La Toc. Stand alone 1-unit villas include the Millionaire and private 2-story Villas at Sandals La Toc. The Villa accommodations are usually within the Butler category class, but not always. The best beachfront villas are the Bay Roc Villas at Sandals Montego Bay. The Beachfront category Rondovals at Sandals Grande Antigua and Sandals Grande St Lucian also have very good proximity.

Special Amenities
Sandals Resorts are known for its higher end suites and villas offering special amenities such as swim-up suites, villas with private pools, and jacuzzi suites. These various suites and villas can be found at Sandals Grande Riviera, Sandals Negril, Sandals Royal Caribbean, Sandals Grande Antigua, Sandals Grande St Lucian, Sandals La Toc, and Sandals Emerald Bay. Note that several of the villa categories at Sandals Grande Riviera include semi-private pools meaning that you share with up to 3 other couples within the villa structure. The rule is unless the description says "private pool", you can assume that it is semi-private.

Balcony & Patio
Most Sandals accommodations either have a balcony or a patio as identified in the accommodation descriptions. Some Deluxe category rooms have neither in some resorts such as Sandals Royal Bahamian or Sandals La Toc. Some of the lower end categories at Sandals La Toc have 'French Balconies' which are not large enough to fit a chair. Some categories may have a mixture with only some rooms having a patio/balcony. Balconies and patios differ in size depending on the resort, some will have lounge chairs while others have 2 chairs and a table. The largest of balconies will have multiple furnishing types.

Type of View
Sandals Resorts offers various view categories among the resorts. The most basic and least expensive views are the garden views which overlook the general resort grounds including garden areas, walkways, and various structures. Garden views will not include any type of views of water features such as the pools, ocean, or beach. Pool views offer overlook of the pool areas and grounds. Pool front rooms offer direct access to the pools from the rooms. Ocean view overlooks the ocean but generally has no view of the beach area. Oceanfront rooms can be of various distance from the ocean but generally have no obstructions blocking the view. Beach view have views of the beach area and are usually very close to the beach with direct access and no obstructions.
