Sandals Traveling Guide
Passports
The United States now requires passports for all air travelers to the Caribbean islands including the Bahamas. Non US citizens require the appropriate documentation for US re-entry. Please consult the following passport resources for further information.
Airport Transfers
Sandals Resorts includes roundtrip airport transfers within its packages. Transfers are included whether airfair is purchased through Sandals or purchased individually. After the resort balance is paid in full, vouchers will be emailed to be brought along on your travels for the transfers and resort check-in. After arriving at the airport and proceeding through customs, simply go to the Sandals desk or Sandals lounge in order to be placed on a shuttle to your resort. Please note that airport transfer drivers are not Sandals employees and tips are greatly appreciated.
Traveling to Jamaica
All flights go through Montego Bay Sangster International Airport (MBJ). In order to help support the growing tourism, Jamaica has made dramatic improvements to the airport including fully air conditioned, a new gate wing, and fully modernized the facilities with modern shops and restaurants (Jamaica Montego Bay airport video). In addition, roadway upgrades continue including new highways. It is now much more of a pleasure traveling through Jamaica as compared to days of the past.
Montego Bay: 5-15 minutes away
Negril: 75 minutes away (Negril POI Map - shows all resort locations and points of Interest)
Ocho Rios: 2 hours at minimum
Whitehouse: 90 minutes minumum
Traveling to Bahamas
The airport for Sandals Royal Bahamian is Nassau International Airport (NAS). Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort is located on Cable Beach less than 15 minutes away from the airport. In general, Sandals Royal Bahamian is the easiest and least expensive Sandals Resort to travel in terms of flight.
The airport for Sandals Emerald Bay is Exuma Intl Airport (GGT). Traveling to this airport will usually involve a connection flight for most travelers.
Traveling to Antigua:
All Antigua flights go through V.C. Bird International
Airport (ANU). Go through customs and proceed to the Sandals desk. The resort is located less then 20 minutes away. Much of Antigua is in the process of development with many ongoing construction projects.
Traveling to St. Lucia:
Traveling through St. Lucia can often have the option of two airports. Most flights travel through Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) which is approx 2 hour drive to the resorts. Smaller planes (usually involves connection thru San Juan) can land at Vigie Airpot (SLU) and be approx 15 minutes to the resorts. Traveling through St. Luica is along a series of single lane curved roadways, but very scenic including mountain and rainforest travels.
If you are arriving through UVF and want to skip the 2-hour drive, helicopter transfers are available from UVF to SLU airport through an helicopter operator for a charge of $120 per person 1-way. Sandals will then shuttle you the approx. 15 minutes from SLU to your resort. (St Lucia helicopter ride video - If you look carefully you will see good view of Sandals Regency and the resort cliffside villas down below to the left during the video stretch 1:04-1:12.)
The 3 Sandals resorts are located in the Northwest section of St. Lucia and all within 20 minutes of each other. Sandals complimentary shuttles run throughout the day between the resorts for guests wishing to take advantage of the exchange privileges.
