Located up the beach approximately 5 minute drive away from the ever popular Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Royal Caribbean offers a convenient alternative to guests searching for a more refined atmosphere. Compared to its sister resort down the road, Royal Caribbean offers a more luxurious resort, a quieter surrounding, and a more laid back environment. The resort also features larger pools but still smaller in comparison to many other Sandals resorts. Incorporated is a British style theme including afternoon tea time, continental breakfast in bed, and a British Pub. At night, the resort brings in entertainers and performers but the environment is much more serene as compared to down the road.

Of course just like the other Montego Bay resorts, Royal Caribbean offers Jamaica tourists a convenient location very close to the airport. Compared to Sandals Montego Bay, Royal Caribbean is a bit further away from the airport - you will still hear planes but to a much lesser extent.

Even being a fairly successful Montego Bay resort, over the years this overshadowed resort has been on a march to search for its own identity within the Sandals brand. Sandals has incorporated several enhancements including developing an exotic offshore private island featuring a Tai restaurant and pool with swim-up bar. Guests take a Sandals boat out to the island which provides an additional dimension to the resort. The resort is now in the process of upgrading 3 buildings to feature swim-up rooms along a lazy river type pool. Some additional suites are opening August 2008 and new 1BR River Suites are scheduled to be opening 10/31/08.
