The most luxurious and generally the most expensive of the three Sandals St Lucia resorts. It is also usually described as the most traditional of the three resorts with an expansive lobby and surrounding restaurants. Most of the resort facilities and room/suites can be reached from the internal hallway corridors. The Grande St Lucian, built in 2000, is also one of the newest of all the Sandals resorts. Constructed on a man-made peninsula that now connects Pigeon Island to the mainland, the resort has both views of picturesque Rodney Bay to the south and the ocean to the north. Bordering to the west is Pigeon Point which includes Pigeon Island National Park featuring historic Fort Rodney, also the site of the annual St Lucia Jazz festival. The resort has full exchange privileges and complimentary shuttle with the other two Sandals St Lucia resorts.

Location - Northwest corner approx 10 minutes north of Castries and few minutes North of Rodney Bay. Approx 10 minute drive to Sandals Halcyon and 20 minutes to Sandals La Toc by shuttle. Approx 1.75 hours from UVF airport and 15 minutes from SLU airport.

Atmosphere - Certainly the most upscale atmosphere and most demanded among the three St Lucia Sandals resorts. Good mixture of entertainment and relaxation. Guest age groups represented well including good amount of honeymooners. From yachts out in the bay to the scenic panoramic views, the resort's atmosphere is lifted by its remarkable St Lucia coastal setting.

Layout & design - 301 rooms & suites situated along a peninsula with a Caribbean Sea & beach to the west and the Atlantic ocean along the eastern boundary. Series of 3 & 4-story accommodation buildings all with elevators & internal hallways with most buildings interconnected by short breezeways. Private Rondoval villas are located on the beachside of the resort. Newest and most upscale of the three Sandals St Lucian resorts along with large centralized lobby & front desk area. Grounds are flat with very little step climbing. The peninsula setting creates a natural breeze setting not found at the other two resorts.

Sandals St Lucian features eight restaurants. 24-hour room service available for all concierge and butler level guests. Continental breakfast served in all rooms & suites.

Bayside Restaurant (International) - primary restaurant with open air seating. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner overlooking the sea. Enjoy buffet breakfast and lunch along with made to order items. Dinner features international a la carte cuisine. No reservations, non-smoking, resort casual attire. Breakfast buffet 7-11am, champagne breakfast served 10-11am. Lunch 12:30-2:15pm. Dinner 6:30-9:30pm, closed Mondays, resort evening attire required.

Toscanini's (Italian) - Indoor air-conditioned setting overlooking the gardens. Breakfast 7:30-10:30am a la carte, resort casual. Dinner 6-9pm, reservations required, resort evening attire. 

Josephine's (Creperie) - Located near the pool, indoor air-conditioned setting, serving crepes made to order, desserts, specialty coffees, and afternoon tea. Daily 11am-7pm, resort casual, non-smoking.

Barefoot By The Sea (Caribbean) - Open air located directly on the sand. A la carte snacks, brugers, and sandwiches during lunch hours. Grilled a la carte Latin Caribbean lunch cuisine favorites during the evening. Resort casual, non-smoking. Lunch daily 10:30am-4:30pm, dinner 6-9:30pm (closed Mondays) Interior open-air setting constructed over the water, stir fried dishes prepared in open kitchen. Olde London Pub (British Pub Cuisine) - Casual air-conditioned authentic British pub serving favorite pub dishes and snacks. Resort casual, non-smoking, no reservations, opens 6pm, meals daily 10pm-2am.

Gordon's (International Gourmet) - Situated on the end of the pier overlooking the sea offering white glove service. Complimentary to all butler level guests, additional charge for all other guests based on availability. Reservations required, resort evening attire, non-smoking. Dinner 6:30-9:30pm, closed Mondays.

The Pizzeria - Hand-tossed wood-fired oven serving made to order pizza, no dress code, no reservations, non-smoking, open daily 11am-7pm.

Accommodations
Rooms are primarily located within six 3 & 4-story accommodation buildings - Rodney Bay, Monchy, Massade, Cap Estate, Bonne Terre, and Pigeon Island buildings. All buildings have elevators along with internal hallways. In addition, a series of individual rondoval villas are situated along the beach area in both the eastern and western areas of the resort.

The accommodations in general are considered the most luxurious and pricing is overall the highest among the three Sandals St Lucia resorts, with exception of perhaps the high end suites at Sandals La Toc. But in general and certainly in terms of the entry and mid tier level rooms, Sandals Grande St Lucian has the most luxurious accommodations. All rooms/suites have either a balcony or patio with some of the ground level rooms having walk-out ability to the grounds.

Within the names, rooms/suites with "beach" in the name have a southern exposure facing the beach side direction of the resort. Names with "ocean" are on the northern ocean side of the hallway. In general, the beach side faces all the resort activity including the beach, pool areas, and has Rodney Bay views. The ocean side is considered the quieter side of the resort with much less activity. Note the resort property does not have direct access to the ocean as a resort boundary fence and the quiet Fort Rodney access road runs along the ocean.

Rooms all have similar furnishings and decor including mahogany furnishings, 37" flat screen TV, king bed, and balcony/patio. Main differences are the views, special amenities such as 1BR suite or swim-up rooms, and type of service such as standard, concierge, or butler service. Concierge and butler level accommodations also include the complimentary in-room bar, his/her robes, and concierge check-in.
